The Montclair Food & Wine Festival is fast approaching — beginning this coming Saturday, May 31st with The Grand Tasting event at the Montclair Art Museum.
Founded in 2011 by blogger Melody Kettle of Hot from the Kettle, the Montclair Food & Wine Festival is a non-profit organization that was incorporated by a unique group of community volunteers, local chefs, restaurateurs and industry professionals. The goal of the event is to recognize, celebrate and share the culinary wealth and diversity of Montclair — and NYC Metro area — while pursuing charitable and educational purposes. It’s a time for uniting chefs, artisans, farmers, and wine-makers in a multi-day event featuring educational seminars, symposia, demonstrations and lectures.
All for the love of local food. And charitable causes — like St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey.
The hubs and I are very much looking forward to attending The Gala Dinner taking place on Monday night at The Manor, where we’ll be treated to the culinary prowess of acclaimed area chefs:
- Chef Mitchell Altholz, Highlawn Pavilion
- Chef Floyd Cardoz, Winner of Top Chef Masters
- Chef Michael Carrino, Pig & Prince
- Chef Ryan DePersio, Fascino, Battello, Nico
- Chef Ariane Duarte, CulinAriane
- Chef Francesco Palmieri, The Orange Squirrel
While the Sunday Seminar Series looks very enticing — from learning about the “NJ Aquaculture” to how to make pasta.
Take a peek at the site and see what tickles your fancy….and then be sure to get your tickets!
Hope to see you there!
