And the Oscar for Best Designer for this entire awards season goes to…………The House of Dior.
Jennifer Lawrence in her now third Dior Haute Couture stunner. Charlize Theron looking statuesque in her Dior Couture gorgeousness.
Love. Love. Love.
And then there were surprises — like Helen Hunt in……H&M?!?!? Yep, you guessed it. But bedazzled with $700,000 worth of Martin Katz diamonds, taking the expression “high/low dressing” to a whole new level. And yes, per my call out on Facebook last night, the media is drawing comparisons to the Sharon Stone/GAP red carpet moment of the late nineties. Read more on that here.
When I’m Jane Fonda’s age, I too, will be rocking the brightest freaking color on the runway.
Naomi Watts gets a gold star –if not the gold trophy — for taking a risk on the biggest fashion night of the year for Hollywood. I thought her Armani Prive metallic sequins cut-out gown pushed the envelope and worked for her. And I thought her hair was Pin-tastic (anyone want to put a wager on how many Pinterest boards that hairstyle is now on today???)
I happen to think Jennifer Aniston has a clean, classic elegance to her approach to fashion. But the majority of the Twitter-sphere (and I) last night thought that she played it too safe in both beauty and fashion choices. There’s no denying that she’s still stunning. She could wear a paper bag and still be stunning.
So what do we think? Who were your Oscar fashion winners? And who missed the boat?
