About two weeks ago I had the chance to take part in a Disney Social Media Moms event in New York City, for a fantastic morning of networking with other social media mavens, as well as the opportunity to be sprinkled with some “pixie dust” by a panel of successful mompreneurs. I’m delighted to share with you that there are some giveaways coming your way thanks in part to some of the connections I made at this little conference!
Since the event was sponsored by Disney, we got the scoop on some magical things happening in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts:
Walt Disney World:
It’s bound to be a “Monstrous Summer” at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, with Pixar film “Monsters University” being all the rage right now. Even mom a la mode got into the fun, winning a plush Don Carlton as a raffle prize at the breakfast event!
Other resort highlights include:
New Fantasyland
The largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom park celebrates its first summer season (we witnessed the construction zone when we were there last summer)! The Magic Kingdom now features three majestic castles in its unique skyline. Families can experience the enchantment of Gaston’s Tavern, Beast’s Castle and Belle’s French village from “Beauty and the Beast,” or go under the sea with “The Little Mermaid.” While “Storybook Circus” features a big top-full-of-fun with Dumbo, The Great Goofini and Pete’s Silly Slideshow.
Limited Time Magic
Guests can enjoy an extra dash of pixie dust each week in 2013 via “Limited Time Magic.” While some experiences last a day, and others last a little longer, Disney Parks makes family moments special through things like 4th of July Fireworks Party and more. Guests can find out what awaits them the days they are there at disneyparks.com
Disneyland:
In California, vacationers at “The Happiest Place on Earth” will see how Disneyland Resort “Just Got Happier” with dazzling new entertainment such as “Mickey and the Magical Map” stage show. It’s also the first summer for guests to experience the new Fantasy Faire with Disney Princesses at Disneyland, and guests continue to enjoy the exciting new offerings of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure.
Mickey and the Magical Map
“Mickey and the Magical Map” is a new, live stage show presented at the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park. It takes guests on a musical adventure with a mischievous Mickey Mouse and the biggest character on stage — the map. It spans the entire stage and has magical powers that come to life through amazing theatrical wizardry, colorful visuals and wonderful music. The journey includes encounters with such classic Disney characters as Pocohontas, Mulan, King Louie from “The Jungle Book,” Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog,” and others. “Mickey and the Magical Map” is designed for Disneyland guests of all ages and represents Disney storytelling at its most thrilling.
My family and I are seriously considering a trip out west to Disneyland, so I was particularly excited to hear about some of the newer attractions out in California. And if you are heading to Walt Disney World this summer, I hear amazing things about the new Fantastyland. We saw it in its infancy last summer and it looked like it was going to be a real treat!
