It’s Bastille Day — and what better way to commemorate than to celebrate with a decadent French dinner?
OK, so full disclosure — these are pics from our anniversary dinner back in late May — but thought it was perfectly fitting for the occasion!
I LOVE French food — from bistro fare like steak frites or a fluffy omelet stuffed with Gruyère and asparagus to braised short ribs (or pretty much anything braised in a bottle of burgundy) and a respectable cheese plate.
My husband and I have been dining at Ridgewood, New Jersey hotspot, Latour, for years. I enjoy it there so much, that I convinced the Executive Chef to hire me to help with his marketing (while we’re on the topic, visit their Facebook page, s’il vous plaît). It’s BYO, cozy and our go-to place for special occasions like birthdays and Valentine’s Day, and I always find something amazing on the menu.
Here is what we enjoyed at our recent anniversary dinner:
And for dessert, house-made profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce. I was so distracted by their divinity that I forgot to take a photo. You’ll just have to trust me on this one…they’re pretty darn amazing.
Joyeux Le Quatorze Juillet to all!
