My mom and I were at it again — hitting a big Michael’s half-price sale recently to accomplish a Fall motif for my mantle on a budget.
We purchased two (2) six-foot leaf garlands and about three decorative Fall foliage inserts for greens and texture. We filled the candlesticks with amber-colored glass beads and a melange of seasonal items like artificial leaves, fruit, acorns and gourds. The purple pumpkin, grapevine Welcome wreath and frames are my own.
Who knew DIY-ing could be this easy (and fun!?)

Love it! I’m going to have to make my own makeshift mantel. I’m always so jealous when I see pretty little vignettes like this one!

Go for it! It’s a lot easier than you think. Keep it simple and start by using what you have around. Those leaf garlands take a little bit of patience to work with, but with a helper (in my case, my mom, who has more patience with artificial foliage than I will EVER have) you’ll be good.
