AHead of the Accessories Trends with Dana-Bands

March 22, 2013 by Lisa Pisano 10 Comments

Now that Spring has officially sprung, it’s time to weed out those closets and dresser drawers and freshen up the ol’ wardrobe.  One easy (and economical!) way to do so is by updating your accessories.  And what gal doesn’t love some new baubles dangling from her ears, wrists or neck?

But this season, why not accessorize to the beat of a new…band?

Ahh, the Headband.  It’s been so many years since we’ve last hung out.  Thanks to some colorful and fun styles from Dana-Bands — Dana Gelenter’s line of handmade, exclusive wraps and bands –I’m delighted to say that I’ve got my head back in the accessories game.

My friend Liza drew my attention to Dana-Bands and once I checked them out, they immediately seemed familiar to me.

It may be because I watch enough reality television to know that Lauren Manzo has been known to wear a Dana-Band on RHONJ or that the gals at Jerseylicious are equally big fans of the bands.

Celebrity clientele aside, Dana-Bands are a standout – from their unique designs, incorporating feathers, beads and luxurious textured fabrics, to their many style offerings.   They seem to be a hot commodity and a trend that I don’t see going away anytime soon.

Styles range from Hair Wraps (which I’m told are useful to keep fly-aways in place when wearing hair up in a ponytail) to Headbands and the extensive product line spans all age ranges from baby to child to teen to adult.

Boho-chic brides will marvel at Dana-Bands Bridal collection of elegant rosettes and bands, done with delicate beadwork and gorgeous satin ribbons.  While little girls will love the flower power, bow-like creations that come in almost every color of the rainbow!

And then there are seasonal items like hats and flip-flops as well as pins and clips that are all adorned with Dana-Bands’ signature style.

I’m excited about my own chic pink and gray rosette headband (thanks, Dana-Bands!) and I can assure you that if I had a daughter, she’d have a few of these little lovelies in her repertoire of accessories!

This looks so pretty on you! I too haven’t rocked a headband in years (now I just live vicariously through my daughter’s head gear) – but you give me hope! I like the one that you are wearing. xx
